美認為我國防預算不足

國防部副部長夏立言上午在立法院外交國防委員會，以「對美軍事交流合作及軍購執行現況」為題進行專案報告。書面報告指出，在美方一中政策下，我方將持續向美爭取我國防部長赴華府訪問、美將級軍官與國防部助理部長以上官員訪台，及我參與華美雙邊或多國聯合演訓等，仍受美政策限制的交流項目，以深化雙邊軍事合作。

報告指出，美方依據其募兵制的經驗，認為我國防預算實有所不足，必須挹注更多資源，以更務實有效的方式，提升台灣防衛戰力。考量美對我安全承諾與軍售決策，常以國防預算是否達GDP3%作為檢視標準，然籌獲先進武器（硬體）與同步強化訓（軟體）作為，均須擴充預算規模方能有效推動，國防部將持續爭取各界認同與支持，以獲得適足國防預算為努力目標，以逐步推動募兵制及確保建軍備戰穩健發展。
